The Educate, Don’t Perpetuate Campaign: Breaking the Silence on Sexual Abuse in the Black Community

Updated: Apr 23

No more silence!

Knowledge is power, and education is the key to breaking cycles of trauma, silence, and misinformation. That’s why I created the Educate, Don’t Perpetuate Campaign—a movement dedicated to raising awareness about sexual abuse in the Black community, sparking conversations, and driving real change.

What is the Educate, Don’t Perpetuate Campaign? This initiative is designed to challenge the generational silence surrounding sexual abuse, particularly in Black families and communities. Too often, these painful experiences are dismissed, ignored, or swept under the rug, leaving survivors without the support they need to heal. The Educate, Don’t Perpetuate Campaign is here to change that by providing education, resources, and safe spaces for conversations about breaking the cycle of abuse and silence.

Why This Matters: For far too long, sexual abuse has been a taboo topic in many Black households. Cultural norms, fear, and shame have contributed to survivors suffering in silence, while abusers remain protected. This campaign is about shifting that narrative—about acknowledging the pain, advocating for healing, and ensuring that future generations do not have to endure the same trauma. By fostering open dialogue and empowering individuals with knowledge, we can help survivors find their voice and prevent further harm.

How You Can Get Involved:

  1. Spread Awareness – Share our message on social media using #EducateDontPerpetuate to help break the silence and start important conversations.

  2. Join the Conversation – Attend our virtual and in-person discussions about sexual abuse awareness, healing from trauma, and community accountability.

  3. Support the Mission – A portion of the proceeds from our FIERCE Survivor apparel line goes directly toward survivor support initiatives and educational outreach.

  4. Tell Your Story – Your voice matters. By sharing your experiences, you can inspire others to break free from silence and seek the help they deserve.

  5. Take Action – Commit to educating yourself and those around you about preventing and addressing sexual abuse. Encourage open discussions, support survivors, and advocate for policy changes that protect victims.

Together, We Can Make a Difference The Educate, Don’t Perpetuate Campaign isn’t just about raising awareness—it’s about taking action. If we want to see change in our communities, we must be intentional about educating ourselves, breaking cycles of silence, and supporting survivors.

Join the movement today by following the campaign, engaging in conversations, and standing up for those who have been silenced for too long. Let’s educate, uplift, and create lasting impact—because knowledge should empower, not imprison.
